Support for victims of Hate Crime

Victim Support is a free and strictly confidential service for residents of Southwark who have been victims of crime. Victim Support Southwark have a dedicated LGBT Caseworker and specially trained volunteers who can give specialist information and emotional support to vicitims of homophobic crimes and racially motivated crimes.

Criminal Injuries Compensation

If you have been injured by violent crime, you can apply for compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation scheme. This scheme is funded by the government as a way of providing "an expression of public sympathy for innocent victims of violent crime." It does not matter whether the offender has been caught, but there are other rules which affect your chances of receiving any money. Victim Support Southwark can explain how you can claim Criminal Injuries Compensation and can help you to make your claim.
